ARE YOU JOINED AT THE HIP?

Conversation with Delyse Ledgard MA, Registered Clinical Counsellor – about, How You Can Develop A Mature Relationship!

Delyse sees relationships as a developmental process – we all have to learn to love well and to love our beloved as a legitimate other. In learning to love well we need to identify what the characteristics of an immature love are,  to begin to change them. In her workshops ‘Are You Joined At The Hip” and her work with couples and individuals she addresses the processes and myths about relationships that keep people in immature dynamics.

In this interview we will be discussing these ideas especially the processes that support merging and looking towards the other for your happiness.

Some common experiences that reflect merging –

Seeing your partner as responsible for your happiness.
Losing your connection to what you want when you are in relationships..
Arguing over the choices or activities you or your partner do on your own.
Staying in a relationship even though you know it isn’t working.
The need to be right and seeing your way of doing things as the way things should be done.

Delyse has been in the counselling field for over 20 years and has a private practice downtown vancouver. For more information visit www.delyse.info
