Tall Paul has been dancing with the tribe since 2002. Born in Toronto, he is an elder in the community, now a 16 year resident of the Republic of East Van. He has an undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Divinity from Acadia University in Nova Scotia.
His travels have taken him widely across this country by bicycle, through Europe, a hospital building mission in Kenya, climbing in Nepal and more pilgrimage through India, Thailand and China.
Paul is a carpenter, a sculptor, professional actor, photographer, a community builder and a healer. He has been actively involved in the Car Free Festival every year since its inception as a street hockey game on Commercial Drive, like, 8 years ago. Paul put on his goalie pads to play net. Seems like it’s the work of an elder, to hold space, game on 😉

Intention evolved from the simple ritual of getting together to dance.It is a family event for connecting with old friends while making new ones.
It is a healing place to shed the isolation and separation of modern urban life.
It is a safe and supportive space for learning and creative risk-taking.
It is an opportunity to learn from a peer mentor by helping organize.
Intention deepens our ability to cooperate and opens our hearts.
Intention is a five-day, four-night event where participants of all ages dance, play, share, perform, learn, eat and have fun together. It includes dance parties, numerous workshops, live music jams, a talent show/cabaret, a tribal market, opening & closing circles, and other spontaneous flourishes.
Intention is participant-driven. You can start getting involved now to share your personal gifts and learn from your peers. Old friends and new faces will co-create a safe container for a rich creative exploration of music, art, and self-expression. All participants, and especially beginners, are supported with finding their own way to join the organizing flow and be involved in the production through the website, e-mail list, and in-person group meetings.
