Jonathan Willcocks, Head Facilitator – “Village Chief”
‘Jono’ is the President and Founder of the Vancouver-based company, Pinnacle Pursuits, which since 1997 has become a globally recognized, award-winning, experiential training, team-building and adventure-learning company. Pinnacle Pursuits is the Corporate Partner for Teen Journey.
Jono’s role includes overseeing the vision of the project and helping to guide the overall flow and intentionality of camp as the experience unfolds during the week. He brings a depth of experience and wisdom to Teen Journey. From a young age, responsibility, leadership, and adversity have played a major theme in creating and defining his life. During and after university, his early experience as a wilderness boot camp leader for young offenders fuelled Jonathan’s interest in working with people – of all ages – to embrace challenge and opportunity with confidence and discover their own unique potential as they learn, grow and achieve success at work, in life, and with their peers with a deeper sense of purpose, passion, authenticity, empathy, and courage!
Jono’s educational background includes a University Education Degree in Kinesiology and Human Potential, he is a recognized recreational therapist, experienced outdoor adventure guide, and a Certified Professional Life and Leadership Coach and Facilitator. He is also an author, professional speaker, adventure-athlete, and award-winning entrepreneur and experiential educator. His commitment to life-long learning and his passion and enthusiasm for using group dynamics, nature and adventure as a metaphor for self-inquiry, self-discovery and embracing challenge and personal transformation, is inspiring and contagious!
