Raw Food Panel with Preet Marwaha,
Aaron Ash, Jamie Lepinsky & Celina
Mikolajczyk

Jamie Lepinsky– Jamie’s passion for Health and Raw Food stemmed from growing up as an overweight child. Beginning to look at how his eating affected his health transformed his life and launched his passion for understanding Nutrition and helping others towards a higher quality of life.

His credo is that healthy food can and should taste good and his work is to clear up misconceptions in that area by creating delicious recipes! Started Apprenticing for his Chef’s Papers in Thunder Bay, and went to George Brown in Toronto for the Chefs apprentice program and  began working at a well known Vegetarian restaurant called Fressen as the Sous Chef there.

After moving out to Vancouver, he began the Rooted Cafe which is located at Eternal Abundance at 1025 Commercial Drive.

Celina MikolajczykFor the past three years I’ve been on a healing journey. At age 30 I was diagnosed with cancer. I knew at that point that I had some decisions to make. I decided to do everything I possibly could to heal myself. I went ahead with conventional cancer treatments. I had surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. When I started doing research about how to heal cancer naturally, food came up again and again. And it was always about vegetables, greens, herbs, fruit, nuts, seeds, spices and super-foods, which are all from plants.
The way I see it, every step you take away from nature is a step away from health. The simpler and closer to nature we eat, the less energy our bodies use in the digestion process and in trying to manage toxins. That means extra energy that we can use for other things, like building our immune systems and healing our bodies, minds and spirits. When I experienced the connection between the food I eat and the quality of my thoughts and feelings, I knew that there was a connection between food and my ability to stay awake spiritually. Its all connected, our bodies, minds and spirits. There’s no separation. I’m so grateful to be here right now, in Vancouver, surrounded by abundant healthy food choices and a like-minded community. Thank you so much!

Preet Marwahathrough his passion for food, health and saving the planet started OrganicLives as a means to facilitate change. A change that is required in the way that we connect with our food and the systems that produce our food, to enable an understanding of the impact these choices have on our health, that of the planet and all of its inhabitants. OrganicLives is the real life representation of ethical sustainable commerce that enriches lives from grower to consumer. Whether you are eating at our restaurant, shopping at our online store or taking one of our culinary workshops. at OrganicLives, we’re all about the food – how and where it’s grown and sold, the purity of the preparation process, the quality and quantity of the nutrients inside, and, of course, the taste. The mind-blowing, zen-inducing, can’t-peel-the-smile-off-my-face taste.

Today, Preet is busy promoting and supporting these values through organic sustainable agriculture projects locally in BC as well as in developing nations around the globe. Whether it is transitioning conventional blueberry farms to organic here in BC or bringing together a farming village in Thailand to create a local economy that will ensure their survival for generations to come, it is all about bringing positive change to the world. Preet is also involved with global projects with the World Wellness Project, Safe Planet Campaign and the United Nations, where he has just recently returned from Thailand speaking to the UN about the impact agriculture is having on the ozone layer and will be a keynote speaker for their upcoming Organic Agriculture conference in India.
