Join Tasha Simms and Marc Caron as they speak with Heather Plett, author of the book The Art of Holding Space: A Practice of Love, Liberation, and Leadership and the co-founder of the international Centre for Holding Space. She is an international speaker, facilitator, writer, and life-long learner whose work has been translated into a dozen languages and quoted in such notable publications as Harvard Business Review.

Heather is committed to diversity and inclusion, and I work to creating  “Safe and Brave Spaces” online and offline,

where people of all races, religions, gender identities, abilities and disabilities, sexuality, etc. can engage in meaningful conversation and growth. I commit to continuing to stretch myself and learn to do better in this regard.

Heather Plett’s  new book, The Art of Holding Space, is an invitation to change the ways we are in relationship with each other.  This book  is a timely subject for all folks who are trying to have challenging conversations with people during a time when everyone is on edge and divisiveness is increasing.

Listen in and Discover…

  • What does it mean to hold space?
  • How can we hold space for ourselves?
  • What’s the opposite of holding space?
  • Why is it so hard to hold space for my family or those closest to me?
  • How do we apply the teachings from the book to the current situation, when we’re all in the middle of a pandemic?

The Art of Holding Space will give you tools on how to:

  • Be present for those you love and those you work with without judging them, controlling them, or fixing them.
  • Show up and not back away from messy conversations, disruption, grief, trauma, or intense emotions.
  • Honour each person’s autonomy, dignity and unique personal experiences.
She has trained people from six continents, both in person and online. Before launching her work in holding space, Heather worked in leadership and communications in government and non-profit. She lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with her three daughters.
