May 9th, 2018 – In this weeks episode of Conscious Living Radio, we are thrilled to have Melissa Berry Appleton, and Jen Newman join us in the studio to discuss “Cultivating Joy”, and how going on retreats can be a great way to reset, rejuvenate and recreate!Melissa and Jen help others, explore their capacity to experience joy, by weaving traditional Buddhist teachings of the Brahma Vihara – Good Abiding, inters pursed with modern explorations on Joy- through yoga and small tastings of meditation.
Understanding the difference between happiness and joy, allows us to cultivate healthy emotional habits and resilience. Melissa and Jen believe it is important to implement practices into our every day living in order to cultivate more joy into our experiences.
Going on retreat has a way of shifting habitual patterns, uncovering what deeply matters in our hearts, and provides take-home tools to support daily life in meaningful ways. A Retreat is not an escape from our everyday life, but a way to un-plug, down regulate our nervous system, and breathe fresh perspective into our life alongside learning useful practices to support daily living.
