April 25, 2018 – In this episode of Conscious Living Radio, we speak to Rama Achala, the only Advanced IAKP Kambo Practitioner in Canada. She’s an Intuitive Healer, Certified “Life Coach” for Heart Centered Living, Author and Speaker.Rama is a Medicine Carrier of the Sacred Rapé (Ha-Pay), Sananga and Kambo Medicines. She facilitates retreats and medicine circles throughout North America and Costa Rica.
Over 10 years ago Rama was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis after MRI’s showed lesions in her brain and spine. She was told by doctors that she would have to be on pharmaceutical injections, every week, for the rest of her life or risk waking up blind, deaf or paralyzed.
Against the advice of numerous neurologists, Rama went in search for alternative ways of healing. She knew that there was more to this diagnosis than just the symptoms that had manifested in her body. It came from somewhere deeper that was calling for her attention. There was something to learn and healing that needed to happen.
After many sacred Ayahuasca, Sananga, Rapé (Ha-Pay) and Kambo Journeys, with Shaman from the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil and Columbia, Rama emerged with what she can only describe as a DNA, Past-Life, Cellular Cleanse; new knowledge and understandings of Love and Compassion for herself, others and the world around her.
In 2014 Rama was in and out of the hospitals in Costa Rica and after many tests and visits to neurologists, was told she was having an M.S. relapse. She made the tough decision to leave paradise and make her way back home to Canada to be closer to friends and family while she healed.
Even though doctors insisted Rama was relapsing, she always believed that one day the diagnosis would be reversed, through her own healing process and without the use pharmaceuticals. Once the diagnosis no longer served a deeper purpose, it would be released from her body.
On March 20th, 2015, and after working with Sacred Amazonian Medicines for 3 years, Rama was told she was no longer diagnosed with M.S. Her MRI’s showed no new lesions and the old lesions had shrunk or disappeared.
Rama believes that disease in the body is created on many different layers. The Mind, Emotional, Spiritual, Physical and Energetic levels. It can be Ancestral, from past lives, from this life and even from the collective. She believes that these manifestations are to get our attention. They’re signs calling for our attention to dive deeper into parts of ourselves and for healing. They are gifts. There’s something greater within us that is calling us home to our Truth, to our hearts.
She believes that these Sacred Medicines can and will continue to help unlock the truth within us all and to support the healing of humanity and our planet.

So…What is Kambo, Rapé & Sananga?
Kambo is a secretion from one of the largest Hylid frogs known as the Giant Green Monkey Tree 
Frog. Its scientific name is Phyllomedusa Bicolor. The frog is nocturnal and arboreal and due to the fact that it has no natural predators is found in abundance across the Upper Amazon rainforest areas of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, French Guiana, Suriname and Venezuela.
An Italian scientist, Vittorio Erspamer of the University of Rome was the first person to analyse Kambo in a laboratory. In 1986, he wrote that it contains a ‘fantastic chemical cocktail with potential medical applications, unequalled by any other amphibian’. The chemicals that he referred to were Peptides. The peptides studied by Erspamer have become essential to characterize the functional role of opioid receptors. He was twice nominated for a Nobel Prize and was also the person who first discovered Serotonin. Several peptides have since been isolated from the secretion and several have been synthesised. Currently there are over 70 Kambo patents lodged, mainly in the USA.
Now, the popularity and use of Kambo as a natural medicine is spreading worldwide. As the scientific and medical research into the secretion of the Phyllomedusa Bicolor grows, skilled practitioners are also developing new ways to work with this powerful substance from the Amazonian Rain Forest which allows it to be accessible to almost everyone in a safe and manageable way. Not only do we now have a number of different traditional ways to take Kambo but we can also work with the Meridians, the Chakras, Nadis and Marma Points and even the ears – Auricular Kambo. Sacred Rapé Snuff
Rapé is sacred shamanic snuff medicine, which is pronounced ‘ha-peh’ in English. Also, it’s known to be casually referred to as ‘hape’, ‘hapi’ or ‘rapay” by some Western people.
They are very rare, sacred, powerful, precious, profoundly healing and cleansing miracle medicines. They are made in a very sacred and labour intensive process, and consist of various Amazonian medicinal plants, trees, leaves, seeds, and other sacred ingredients. Some types of rapé are made by various indigenous tribes, who originate from different South American countries – primarily Brazil and Peru.
Traditionally, they are applied by using a pipe made from bamboo or bone, which is blown through each nostril on both sides. Sananga is made from the roots and bark of the Tabernaemontana sananho shrub, part of the Iboga family, and comes directly from the Kaxinawá and Yawanawá tribes. This sacred and potent medicine is used for healing physical and spiritual ailments, by clearing your mind and energies and gaining a complete new way of perception and focus.
Usage and Medicinal Effects:
The pure spirit of Sananga supports a deep cleansing of blocked energies on emotional, physical, and spiritual levels. Active ingredients and effects:
Sananga eye drops contain an abundance of alkaloids, whereof the most potent active ingredient is ibogaine, which has long lasting and powerful effects on your mind, enabling powerful introspection and re-alignment. Apart from ibogaine, several other alkaloids, such as coronaridine, quebrachidine, heyneanine, 3-hydroxycoronaridine, ibogamine and voacangine are contained in Sananga. All of these alkaloids have powerful psychoactive effects and can exert strong antibiotic effects.
There can be slight differences in the composition of Sananga: the Becchete from the Matsés tribe contains Tabernaemontana undulata roots, whereas the Sananga eye drops from the Kaxinawá tribe contains sananho roots. Both of these roots are known to produce strong vision.
