A living spiritual master is the rarest of human beings… their very presence entrains divine communion. In September 2009, Vancouver and Kelowna will have the rare opportunity to experience the quiet, compelling presence of the man who was named “The American Guru” in the award winning documentary, “The Spiritual Revolution”, Master Charles Cannon.

Master Charles Cannon, was coined The American Guru in the award-winning documentary film, The Spiritual Revolution.  He is known worldwide as a modern spiritual visionary, holistic lifestyle educator and master of meditation.  He is the originator of the Synchronicity Experience and author of the spiritual autobiography, The Bliss of Freedom.  He was born March 14, 1945 in Syracuse, NY into a typical, middle-class, Italian-American family.  His mystical awakening began to unfold in his childhood via apparitions of the Blessed Mother and has continued throughout his life.
Based on his spiritual experience, his primary focus has always been the exploration and study of mysticism, philosophy and comparative religion.  His higher education was in comparative religion and philosophy, and his life, from his earliest years, has been marked by spontaneous, metanormal experiences of expanded, holistic and transcendental states of awareness.
Master Charles’ primary teacher has been the Blessed Mother who began appearing to him in his early childhood and whose apparitional manifestation continues into the present time.  His vision is holistic spirituality and his enlightening experience validates his monotheistic philosophy of life.  He shares a holistic model of reality with One Source Consciousness as the substratum of a multi-dimensional reality along with the mechanics of its actualization through holistic lifestyle in human experience.
In 1970, while still in his early twenties, he traveled to India where he became one of the closest Western disciples of Paramahansa Muktananda, among the most well-known and highly acknowledged Eastern mystics of the modern era.  From 1970-1982, Master Charles was extensively trained in orthodox, Vedic/Tantric philosophical contexts and was ordained a monk of the Vedic Order of Sannyasins, the oldest existing monastic, contemplative order in the world today.  His monastic name is His Holiness Swami Vivekananda Saraswati.  He also served as an Ambassador for Muktananda’s tradition and appeared in a number of high-profile public venues all over the world.  Throughout this time, he continued to experience a progressive expansion in his mystical experience through the art and science of meditation and holistic lifestyle.
In 1983, following Muktananda’s death, Master Charles returned to the United States and founded Synchronicity®, Foundation for Modern Spirituality, a non-profit, non-sectarian, spiritual, educational organization dedicated to the contemporized, technological approach to the art and science of meditation and holistic lifestyle.  Since its inception, Master Charles and the Synchronicity Experience have achieved international status.  Synchronicity Contemporary High-Tech Meditation® soundtracks, featuring the acclaimed Holodynamic® Vibrational Entrainment Technology (HVET), are used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.  Master Charles also presents regular retreats and programs at Synchronicity’s international headquarters, located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of central Virginia and in major cities throughout the world.
Master Charles stunned world audiences recently in his international media appearances when he refused to condemn the Islamic terrorists who murdered his closest associate Alan Scherr and Alan’s thirteen year old daughter Naomi during the Mumbai attacks in November, 2008.  Instead Master Charles spoke of the sacredness of all life; he talked of love, compassion and forgiveness towards the terrorists. He demonstrated unconditional love and the affirmation of life.
Master Charles’ seeming abandonment of the traditional context of spirituality in favor of a contemporary approach has made him one of the most innovative spiritual educators of our time.  Yet the tangible, experiential impact of the man and his work is undeniable.  An extremely effective and engaging speaker, Master Charles and the Synchronicity Experience have been well featured in the international media and he has presented programs at the World Health Organization; the National Institutes of Health; Columbia, Oxford, Tel Aviv and Bombay Universities; Westminster Abbey; the United Nations and the Vatican.
