Award winning actress, writer, producer Monica Parker, will open We Move Forward 2013! “Aging Gracefully or Disgracefully – It’s all in the Perception” is Monica’s irreverent view of a society gone mad. Frankenstein had nothing on these white-coated merchants of madness.  Monica will share her observations & her thoughts about the expensive & never ending hunt for a magic potion, a silver scalpel or as she sees the true holy grail being the capture of a twenty-two year-old model/donor, willing to give over to a full body-&-head transplant in exchange for living a cushy but invisible life. Her ability to never shy away from the truth even when painful, embarrassing, sometimes awkward but always relatable is one of Monica’s greatest gifts to an audience. Parker’s recipes for surviving the sand-traps, sinkholes & minefields guaranteed to appear in everyone’s lives are insightful, pragmatic, & laced with disarming candor & spot on wit. Her smart & sassy take on living life to the fullest have made her a much-desired speaker, pundit & frequent talk show guest. Monica has worked in film & television in Los Angeles for the past twenty years with some of the greats – Gwyneth Paltrow, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Gena Rowlands, Michael Douglas, John Cusack, & Kim Catrall. Currently, she is developing a reality series for Mark Victor Hansen (Chicken Soup for the Soul) & Robert Allen (No Money Down) based on their best-selling book, The One-Minute Millionaire. & she is writing a non-fiction book of her own – Survival Secrets of a Beverly Hills Bag Lady.

We Move Forward takes place on Mexico’s Isla Mujeres, or “Island of Women.” Surrounded by the turquoise Caribbean Sea, “Isla” is the ideal spot to celebrate International Women’s Day. A short ferry ride from Cancun, Isla is the perfect escape – safe, accessible, affordable and exceptionally beautiful.
