Join Tasha Simms as she speaks with Lyn Delmastro-Thomson, a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner, Body Intuitive Practitioner, speaker, and author of the Amazon Best Seller, You Are Not Your Diagnosis.

After being misdiagnosed with leukemia at the age of 25, Lyn became passionate about sharing with the world her message that just because a doctor has said an illness is “chronic” or “incurable” doesn’t mean that it has to be a life sentence, and that western medicine isn’t the only approach to healing. When we explore other holistic options, true healing, rather than symptom management, can occur. Lyn’s passion is to help YOU unleash your healing potential!

About Lyn

Lyn began getting weekly biofeedback sessions,  at the age of 12 when horrific migraines took over her life. She was seeking a way to feel more in control of her anxiety and stress and biofeedback was a great practical tool to help with Lyn Delmastro Thomsonthat.  Lyn dove into therapy to help process grief, fear, and overwhelm.

At her therapist’s suggestion, she began attending a “yoga for healing” class at a local studio in Santa Barbara, where she was living at the time.

Looking back, she now believes getting sick in 2004 was a wake-up call, a “cosmic two-by-four to the head.” she had been in grad school for 3 years and was miserable but afraid to quit because she didn’t know what it was the she wanted to do with her life…

After getting sick and her  best friend passing away suddenly the following year, she realized how short life really is and that she could no longer pursue something that brought no joy. She quit her program and got a job,  while she set up about figuring things out.

It was during the course of one of her weekly biofeedback sessions that she realized what she did want to do… she could see herself learning this approach and helping others! And then, as she came to enjoy my yoga for healing class more and more, she became excited to train to teach therapeutic yoga as well.

Her path had found her….

she went back to school, getting a master’s degree in somatic (mind-body) psychology and pursued training in biofeedback and therapeutic yoga.

After moving to Portland and starting her business,  she began focusing on helping clients with anxiety, stress, and illness.

Then, in 2012, BodyTalk entered her life. At that time, She was having a persistent pain in her left knee that nothing seemed to help, she recalled having had someone who was a “BodyTalk Practitioner” the year before and decided that maybe now was the time to try a session.

She was so amazed when after that very first session, her knee showed significant improvement. The pain that had been going on for at least 3 months was about 95% gone after one session!

And not only did her knee feel better, she also noticed that there were shifts in other areas of her life- like her emotional state. She was fascinated by this approach and after a few more sessions, decided to take the practitioner’s training class that was happening locally a few months later.

BodyTalk has become the primary healing modality that she uses in her work with clients, because it brings amazing, powerful results to a wide range of physical and emotional issues. She continually takes classes to expand her skill set and knowledge base.

When beginning to studying BodyTalk back in 2012, she became very intrigued by Chinese Five Elements theory, which is part of the BodyTalk system.

One day, studying the Fire Element, which is connected to the organ of the heart, the name Heart Fire Healing sprung to mind. As all of these concepts truly resonated with the work she was beginning to do with clients to heal chronic illness, she was inspired to change the name of her business to Heart Fire Healing.

The Fire Element and the heart are connected to the emotion of joy and to the energy of maximum expansion (represented by the season of summer). The Fire Element also represents the consciousness of self-awareness and knowing who we really are, as well as representing a deep synthesis of knowing of life.
